Mangoes and Star Apples on my Journey

Image
Just taking a drive out in the country areas can be so much fun.  This journey cannot happen on a daily basis, so when it comes, take it with pure joy. Words sometime cannot explain the feeling of sheer ecstasy when you drive through the country side.  This is just a continuation from my recent post in regards to a trip to St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.  In the country, the air is so clean and fresh, you want to stop and lie down in a patch of green grass somewhere and take it all in.  What a magnificent place my God has created.  If only we could all live in peace on this earth. Mangoes and Star Apples The fruits along the roadside are always one of my main delights.  I was very pleased to see vendors selling star apple, mangoes, pineapples and various other fruits.  However, mango is my favourite and I just could not leave out the star apple. Yummy! I bought my fruits and by the time I reached home, those fruits were almost gone, in the belly of course. I cannot help but appreci

A Tour to and from St. Elizabeth

Image
My friends and I went on a tour to St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, driving on the sea coast.  The ride was so invigorating and peaceful, not to mention the beautiful and natural scenery which was so captivating.  I thoroughly enjoyed myself.  I would do it all over again. On our way back from St. Elizabeth, the various stops were a must for us.  Fry fish, bammy, fish soup were just a few of the mouth watering 'must have foods.'  On a daily basis, these vendors produced the most delicious foods.  I am talking about the the stop at Border.  It is so named because it is the border between the Parishes of Westmoreland and St. Elizabeth.  What a wonderful world our God has made.  Why not take a tour for yourself? As Peaceful As A Flower

Image
We complicate our lives when we borrow trouble from  the future.  We waste our energy worrying about what might happen tomorrow; we become frantic and pressured looking at the many responsibilities on our to-do list for the next week; we lie awake obsessing over our plans for the upcoming month. And meanwhile we miss the precious gift of peace that God has given us right here, right now, in this tiny present moment that touches eternity.  Be like the wildflower, Jesus tells us in the Gospels, simply soaking up today's sunshine: "Take no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself" (Matthew 6:34). Children live the same way, delighting in the here and now, untroubled by the future.  When we can find that same wholehearted simplicity, we, too, will know the peace of God's Kingdom. Ellen Sanna

I Look To You, Dear Lord

Image
You are my hope, the Lord of my life.  I wait on You and move cautiously in my decisions.  I am not ashamed to trust in Your guidance, Lord.  Instead I feel thankful for the trust in You.  I am filled with peace.  Throughout the day my thoughts often turn to You for direction and strength.  In quiet and confidence I find the strength only You can give. You, dear Father, are my Rock and my defender; I shall not fear.  I know I believe, and I am persuaded that You keep me close to You day by day. I look to You.  I doubt not in Your unfailing love for me.  Thank You.  In Jesus' name.  Amen.  Anita Corine Donihue

How Will Evil End?

Image
There is so much evil in the world today, so much wickedness, violence, corruption, drunkenness and debauchery.  There is so much crime of every description, that some people think it will never end.  Evil has taken strong hold on the human race ever to be eradicated. Yet one of the most glorious truths your Bible reveals is that someday in God's good time, when He is ready, all evil will come to an end.  Someday there shall be no more curse and no more utter destruction because the former things shall not be remembered.  All the mean, ugly, hateful things shall not be remembered nor come to mind. This was one of the main reasons that Jesus came to this world as stated in 1 John 3:8,  "For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil." But He is not going to destroy just the works of the devil, but the devil himself.  Praise God!!

Nailing My Sins To His cross

That day when they crucified my Saviour, He was willing to pay all the cost.  When they drove the nails through His body, they were nailing my sins to His cross. Oh the shame of it, my sins crucified Him that day, my sins were to blame.  Forgive me Lord I pray, I will live so the world can know that I love You for nailing my sins to the cross. Although this was centuries ago now, and I was not even living at all, The Bible says Jesus died for all sinners.  This includes me, Oh praise His dear name.  Thank you Jesus!
Signs Of The End Times   There are those who would roll their eyes at the idea of the signs of the end times. This is due in large part to the number of times in the past people have proclaimed that the end times were upon us. That being said, the events of the past few years, or even decade, have Bible scholars at all levels looking closer to ascertain if prophesy is indeed being fulfilled. Date and Time Is there a preordained date and time for the end of the world? In the Bible, this question was posed of Jesus, to which he said that no one would know the day of the end save God himself; however, He did say there would be unmistakable signs. So, while according to the Bible no one can know the specific month, day or hour of the end times return of Christ, it is clear that the season will be apparent. Prophesy of the Signs There are many signs listed in the New Testament that will proclaim that the end of the world is near. Here are but a few and the manner in
