My God Is God

Image
Moses wanted to see God, As a matter of fact, he longed to see God.  He pleaded in Exodus 33:18, "please let me see the dazzling light of your presence."  However, God told him that this could not be because no sinful mortal could look upon His face and live.  Anyway, to appease his longing a little, God hid Moses in a cleft of the rock and covered him with His hands as he passed by.  Exodus 34:5-7 revealed that, The Lord came down in a cloud, stood with him there, and pronounced His holy name, the Lord. The Lord then  passed in front of him and called out, "I, the Lord, am a God who is full of compassion and pity, who is not easily angered and who shows great love and faithfulness.  I keep my promise for thousands of generations and forgive evil and sin; but I will not fail to punish children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generation for the sins of their parents."  Therefore, the God of my Bible is, by His own declaration, merciful, graci...

Be Revived Today.

Who has the right to go up the Lord's hill?  who may enter His holy temple?  Those who are pure in act and in thought, who do not worship idols or make false promises (Psalm 24:3-4). The only way to avoid spiritual decay and spiritual death in our lives today is by progress and to progress we need a revival.  This brings to mind a chorus many of us love to sing, "I want a revival in my soul, I want a revival in my soul.  I must apply to the blood of Jesus to get a revival in my soul. From Psalm 24:3-4, we learn that a revival will affect three things: Hands:     These must be clean, they represent our actions. Heart:      This must be pure.  The heart represent our feelings. Tongue:   It must not be deceitful, but it must be honest because it represents our speech. When all three are revived: our actions, our feeling, and our speech, then the christian will overcome Satan by taking back what He had sto...

Gossip

Do not spread lies about anyone, and when someone is on trial for his life, speak out if your testimony can help him.   Gossip is so tasty - how we love to swallow it. A gossip can never keep a secret.  Stay away from people who talk too much. No one who gossip can be trusted with a secret, but you can put confidence in someone who is trustworthy. Gossip is spread by wicked people; they stir up trouble and break up friendships. You make plans to ruin others; your tongue is like a sharp razor. Gossip brings anger just as surely as the north wind brings rain. Without wood, a fire goes out; without gossip, quarreling stops. Proverbs 13:3 tells us that, he that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life; but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.   Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil...

A Plea To Young People

The greatest choice of any young person now, is to give his or her life wholly and solely to the Lord.  It will save them unnecessary burdens. A study proved that 88% of all conversions occur before age 19 and 68% occur between 9 and 14. 80% of school students who graduate without Jesus will never be saved and children ages 5-13 have a 32% probability of being saved. 14-18 have a 4% probability and 18 plus have a 6% probability.  What this means? The longer you go without Jesus, the less chances you have because the enemy, Satan keeps blinding their eyes with the pleasures of this world.  I entreat all young people today, do not burn your candle for the devil and blow the smoke of a wasted life in the face of God.  He wants you now because you are strong to carry His message far and near. Do not waste your energy, your vim and vitality for old Lucifer, the devil and be like that a 94 year old man who got saved at a nursing home. Remember now thy Creator in the day...

A Boy Of Ten Gone Home To Be With The Lord

I remembered the first time I met Wayne.  He was 9 years old, but his attitude and speech far exceeds that of a child. He was very authoritative, giving command and instructions to his peers who failed to realize that they were of the same age group, so they asked no questions but to follow his advise. He taught many of them how to ride a bicycle. When he was among adults, it was not strange to hear him giving his thoughts on  political matters. He had an uncanny ability to fix his mother's appliances when they broke. His dream was to become a Scientist:  But this was not to be.  His mother and father took him to an open air service I had in my community.  At the end of the service, his mother led him to the altar.  He was just a child, yet he was suffering from cancer in the right ear.  Wayne stood tall as we prayed for him.  That was the beginning of a relationship between us as I constantly visited him from that night on. Thank God with const...

Friend Of Sinners

Image
A four-year-old child was asking her father about God. "Daddy, God made the heavens and earth, didn't He?' "Yes, my dear." "Then, He made the flower in that flower pot, didn't He?" "Yes!" "Well, that means He got His hands dirty."  Yes. God was willing to get His hands dirty to be a friend of sinners.  It seems logical to say that holiness and perfection might shun impurity and imperfection, but not so to Christ.  In biblical times, sinners were somewhat outcasts of the prevailing religious culture.  They were shunned, sometimes exploited for gain. There was no place for them at the tables of the rich and pious.  They had few friends other than those of their kind.  Jesus came to save sinners, and even today there are only two kinds of persons: sinners and sinners saved by the grace of a good, loving, and redeeming Saviour.  He shuns them not.  He wants to make them whole.  That is His mission. Remember, Jesus is your forever Fr...

Money

Labour not to be rich; cease from thine own wisdom.  Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which He hath promised to them that love Him? Better is an handful with quitness, than both the hands full with travail and vexation of spirit. For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saiith the Lord; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him. Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker; and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished. Rob not the poor, because he is poor; neither oppress the afflicted in the gate..... The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much; but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sl...
